The top two teams in the Dutch Major League will clash this weekend when DOOR Neptunus meets Corendon Kinheim as action resumes in the Netherland’s top league.
#1 DOOR Neptunus (16-4) vs #2 Corendon Kinheim (15-4)
Neptunus went 5-0 to win the 2007 Cupwinner Cup Championship last week while Kinheim brought home the biggest prize – the 2007 European Cup Championship. Neptunus is hitting .301 with 126 runs scored while Kinheim is hitting .313 and have scored 158 times. Leon Boyd (7-0, 1.58) leads a Neptunus staff which boasts a league-low 2.24 ERA. David Bergman (6-0, 1.72) anchors a Kinheim staff that sports a 2.78 ERA. Neptunus took 2-of-3 games from Kinheim last month who have since won four straight.
#5 Amsterdam Pirates (9-11) vs #6 ADO (9-12)
The Pirates have won four out of their last five games to get back into the race. Kenny Berkenbosch (4-3, 1.92) leads a staff with a 3.92 ERA and 98 strikeouts. Amsterdam is hitting .253 and have scored 102 runs. ADO is 3-2 in their last five games and welcomes the return of national team pitcher Rob Cordemans from Taiwan. Harvey Monte (.354) and Percy Isenia (.327) pace an offense hitting .257.
#9 MediaMonks RCH (7-15) vs #3 KM Pioniers (11-10)
The MediaMonks have only two wins in their last seven outings while the Pioniers have dropped four out of five games. All-Everything Ryan Murphy is hitting .361 and is 3-4 with one save and a 2.36 ERA. Roger Kops (3-1, 2.89) and Richard Orman (2-3, 3.57) anchors the Pioniers staff while Glenn Romney (.371) and Michael Duursma (.338) lead an offense that have scored 112 runs this season.
#7 Almere Magpies (9-13) vs #4 Mr. Cocker (10-13)
The Magpies are only 1-5 in their last six games and have scored only 80 runs. Patrick de Lange (3-1, 1.86) paces a capable staff that has fanned 105 hitters and has a 3.97 ERA. Mr Cocker have lost 3-of-4 games and desperately needs to regain some momentum. John Coker (.359) and Ralph Milliard (.309) are the top hitters while Stephen Spragg (3-2, 2.60), Andre Simpson (1-1, 1.88), and Kevin Roovers (3-4, 3.88) lead the pitching staff.
