Baseball League Austria commences 2017 Season

The newly structured and formatted Baseball League Austria (BLA) is starting into the 2017 season. Ten teams split into an east and west division will battle for the Austrian Baseball Championship. The Attnang-Puchheim Athletics are the defending title holders.

The new season starts with the Friday evening game between the Vienna Wanderers and the Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks. On Saturday also the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers take on the Stock City Cubs, the Hard Bulls play against the Feldkirch Cardinals and the Athletics host the BSC Kufstein Vikings. Additionally game two of the Wanderers-Diving Ducks matchup will be played.

The Vienna Metrostars and the Dornbirn Indians have a bye in week one.
