Streaking San Marino Sweeps Rimini
Game 1 – Bautista FIGUEROA pitched eight strong innings and reliever Brian LOONEY was perfect as San Marino beat Rimini 2-1 in 14 innings.
Game 2 – San Marino (20-19) claimed a narrow 7-6 win over the defending Italian champions as Seth LA FERA and Adolfo MATAMOROS both went 3-for-4.
Game 3 – San Marino completed the sweep over Rimini (21-18) with a hard-fought 4-2 win as leadoff hitter James BUCCHERI goes 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Massimilian DE BIASE adds three hits.
Grosseto Moves Closer To Leaders
Game 1 – Lincoln MIKKELSEN tossed eight shutout innings allowing only four hits and fanning seven hitters in a 6-0 win over league-leading Bologna. Kelly RAMOS went 2-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI’s.
Game 2 – Grosseto continued their winning ways as Gino LOLLIO homered and drove in three runs in a 4-2 victory. Junior OBERTO picked up the win scattering eight hits and two runs over eight innings.
Game 3 – Matteo D’ ANGELO threw six no-hit innings and Giovanni PANTALEONI went 2-for-5 while scoring three runs as Bologna avoided a sweep with a 9-1 win against Grosseto last Saturday night.
Parma Stumbles Against Nettuno
Game 1 – Nettuno continued their late-season rally with an 8-2 victory over division leading Parma this past Friday. James MCNAMARA went 3-for-4 with two runs and Carlos PATRONE was 3-for-4 with two RBI’s while scoring two runs.
Game 2 – Michele TORIACO tossed six solid innings and Claudio BIAGINI went 2-for-3 with an RBI as Parma held on to defeat Nettuno 6-5 to remain atop the Serie A league. standings.
Game 3 – Allessandra PAOLETTI scored three runs and James MCNAMARA capped off a big weekend going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI’s to lead Nettuno into sole possession of fourth place with a 9-4 win over Parma.
Godo Claim Three Wins Over Avigliana
Game 1 – David SKREHOT scored four runs, hit a home run, and knocked in four RBI’s to help Godo beat Avigliana 10-4 this past Friday to escape the league cellar.
Game 2 – Godo’s ace pitcher Cody Cillo blanked Avigliana on three hits over seven innings en route to a 4-0 win.
Game 3 – Robert DE FRANCESCHI went 3-for-6 and scored twice while driving in four RBI’s as Godo completed the sweep with an 18-1 thrashing of Avigliana. David SKREHOT scored four runs while going 4-for-5 for Godo.
