Baseball Ireland announces Start of 2009 Season

logo_baseball_irelandBaseball Ireland has announced the schedule of the upcoming league season, with the first game of the season starting on Saturday, April 18th, 2009.

The Irish Baseball League is composed of 10 teams that are based around the country. Key games are staged at the Irish National Baseball Facility at Corkagh Park in Clondalkin, Dublin, as well at baseball fields in Shankill, Dublin, and Greystones, Co Wicklow.

Commenting on the upcoming season, Will Beglane, President of Baseball Ireland said, “We are looking forward to the season with great anticipation and believe that it will be another great summer for baseball in Ireland. We wish all of our players the very best of luck as the teams officially start play.”

Players interested in joining the league should contact League Co-coordinator Brendan Scott via email at signup@baseballireland.com.

The full 2009 Irish Baseball League schedule can be found on the Baseball Ireland website, www.baseballireland.com. All games are open to spectators free of charge.
