Baseball Finals Italy – Preview & Prediction

Posted on August 10, 2007April 9, 2021 by MrBB

Caffe Danessi Nettuno vs Monte paschi Grosseto

Players to Watch: SP Giovanni CARRARA, RP Florian FRAILYN, OF Juan CAMILLO, IF Giuseppe MAZZANTI, IF Igor SCHIAVETTI, OF Ramon TAVAREZ.

Scouting Report: Nettuno won two straight games to oust Parma after trailing 3-2 in the series. The duo of CARRARA/FRAILYN won Games 1, 4, and 7 to reach the finals. CAMILLO and MAZZANTI are biggest offensive threats but TAVAREZ enjoyed big series against Parma.

Keys to Victory: CARRARA and FRAILYN must repeat their semi-final success if Nettuno is to have any hope of winning the crown. CAMILLO and MAZZANTI will be counted on to deliver crucial hits.

Players to Watch: SP Lincoln MIKKELSEN, SP Junior OBERTO, SP Riccardo DE SANTIS, RP Emiliano GINANNESCHI, IF Raul MARVAL, C Jairo RAMOS, IF Jorge NUNEZ, IF Davide DALLOSPEDALE.

Scouting Report #2: Grosseto is well-rested after disposing of Bologna in four games. MIKKELSEN won two games in semi-finals while OBERTO and DE SANTIS recorded a win apiece. RAMOS had a huge series against Bologna. MARVAL, NUNEZ, and DALLOSPEDALE form the nucleus of the offensive attack.

Keys to Victory: If the starting pitching delivers, Grosseto should have enough offense to get past Nettuno. MIKKELSEN is as steady as they come and OBERTO is just as good. DE SANTIS is the wildcard that gives the edge to Grosseto.

Prediction: A classic battle with two outstanding teams. Both teams have peaked at the right time but Grosseto is a slightly more balanced team. Pitching will decide who wins the title and the MIKKELSEN/OBERTO tandem is too talented. Grosseto wins championship in six games.
