Hungary’s first official baseball and softball development program will start with an open spring training event this Sunday. The initiative is a joint project with the Hungarian Baseball and Softball Federation (MOBSSZ) and with one of the capital’s most prestigious sports association, MAFC. The main objective of the program is to implement a consistent quality development program for both local and expat boys and girls. The main target group is the age group between 8-15 years, but the organizers would welcome younger and older participants too. If someone is interested in coaching, or in any kind of helping the initiative, it would be also very much appreciated.

In terms of the practices highly qualified American and Hungarian coaches will guarantee that on one hand all the fundamentals of baseball can be acquired, but on the other hand more qualified players will also get the appropriate guidance at the academy. In addition players can instantly participate in either local, regional, national and even international competitions as members of the MAFC team or if they have a Hungarian citizenship, or just have Hungarian roots, even as cadet or juvenile national team players.

Participation on the spring training is free of charge and if joining the program the first month of practices is also free. Equipment will also be provided by the organizers. The venue of the first event and the practices is: Ujbuda Sportmax (open air), Budapest XI District, Kánai u. 2. Spring training starts at 10 AM and ends at 1 PM, practices start at on Wednesdays (first on the 30th of March) and Fridays at 6 PM and end at 7.30 PM.

Registration is not compulsory, but very much welcome on the +36 209 434 678 mobile number, or via e-mail to attila.vamos@baseball.hu. Further information is available on www.baseball.hu.

The organizers are looking forward to meeting with every baseball friend on the event and practices afterwards.
