The Czech Republic (4-0) outscored opposing teams 81-11 to waltz into the 2007 European Juvenile Championship title game being held this week in Sumperk and Olomous, Czech Republic. The host team will meet Poland (3-1) in the championship game on Saturday.
The Czech squad opened the tournament with a 22-3 win over Bulgaria and a 28-2 victory over Austria. The Polish team fought hard and managed to score in a 11-1 loss to the Czech Republic who booked a spot in the finals with a 20-5 win over Lithuania.
Poland made it to championship game by defeating Austria (14-4) and Bulgaria (11-7). A 5-4 squeaker over Russia propelled the Polish team into a finals rematch against a talented Czech team.
Russia (2-1) will meet Lithuania (1-2) to determine the third and fourth place winners while Austria (1-3) and Bulgaria (1-3) will contest the fifth and sixth place spots. Israel (0-4) will finished the tournament in seventh place and the team from Belarus failed to attend.
