Posted on November 6, 2014 by philipp

One of the best hitters in the Dutch Hoofdklasse is leaving the league. Bas de Jong is transferring from L&D Amsterdam to BSC Quick Amersfoort. He played 17 years at the top level in the Netherlands. In 2014 he still led the league in doubles, RBI and slugging and was among the leaders in the rest of the important batting statistics. He batted .373 (OBP .444/SLG .590) with three home runs, two triples, 16 doubles, 28 runs scored and 42 RBI in 37 games. With the Pirates he reached the Holland Series, where they blew a 2-0 lead, losing in seven games to DOOR Neptunus.
