The time is fast approaching when baseball in Europe needs a professional league. Europe with maybe an east division and a west division and a EUROPEAN SERIES.
Those that tried last year were thwarted by infighting and self interest. The only way forward is get sponsorship for teams and to get a franchise system underway. It must be a franchise system because you cannot run a business with promotion and relegation in the background. Germany have made great strides in the last two years and so have Belgium,France, Czech Republic,Spain. Great Britian still lags way behind with few facitlities that are to be found in the countries already mentioned. i.e proper diamonds, home run fences, safety screens and some seating. Baseball in GB has hardly changed since the late 60’s and 70’s when I was playing.
