The past couple of week Bafinfos.com readers could vote on the best players in the French Elite League in 2009. This weekend the results were published. These are the winners:
Most Valuable Player
Kenji Hagiwara (Rouen Huskies): The 23-year-old batted .333 (OBP .468/SLG .522) with two homeruns, 27 runs scored and 23 RBI in 24 games last year. The outfielder led his team to its fifth French championship in a row.
Best Pitcher
Mathieu Brelle-Andrade (Templiers Senart): The 25-year-old right-hander had a 3-1 record with an ERA of 2.70 in eleven games (four starts). He struck out 37 batters in 43 1/3 innings, walking eight and issuing 37 hits.
Best Batter
Dennis Kelly (Montpellier Barracudas): The 25-year-old former star player at Austin College, who played for the Swedish club Karlskoga Bats in 2008, batted .411 (OBP .463/SLG .607) with one homerun, five triples, eight doubles, 29 runs scored and 23 RBI in 2009 für the ‘Cudas.
