The Bad Homburg Hornets have a new foreign pitcher. Left-hander Clayton Freimuth is replacing Gary Michael Owens with the German Baseball-Bundesliga club. Freimuth is 24 years old and a graduate of the Frostburg State University (NCAA Division III). In 85 innings he had an ERA of 1.91 last year.
The club also announced that Chris Ciatti is taking over as player-coach, replacing Martin Matlacki, who is returning to the field as an outfielder. Ciatti will be supported on the coaching staff by the returning Nate Thomas and Freimuth. Owens has left the team to join the Stuttgart Reds.
