The Bad Homburg Hornets will enter the new season with six new players on the roster. Max Doll, Freddy Bättig Heredia, Elliott Glynn, Rogelio Maldonado, Kyle Waldell and Spenser Payne will reinforce the team in the German Baseball-Bundesliga this year. Glynn is a former UCONN hurler, who will be the pitcher in game two each week. Waldell and Doll are supposed to share most of the workload in game one. Glynn, Maldonado, Waldell and Payne are also going to handle the coaching in Bad Homburg.
No longer on the team are Matti Emery (new player coach with Stuttgart Reds), Matt Leonard, Jon Eisen (both back in US), Tobias Netz, Viktor Volz, Jeremy Jenkins, Jennell Hudson (all four no longer active players due to professional reasons), Peter Ackerman (joined Dortmund Wanderers) and Marcel Felsmann (joined Mainz Athletics). Bad Homburg will open the 2013 season next weekend with road games against the Reds.
