Awards, All-Star Team announced for Austrian Baseball League

The Athletics Attnang-Puchheim won the 2010 championship in the Austrian Baseball League this fall. This weekend Austrian Baseball honored its new title holders last weekend and also announced the winners of the individual awards and the members of the all-star team. Big winner was Whitney Robinson-Pierce of the Schwaz Tigers, who also already has played in Switzerland, the Netherlands and in Germany. He won the Triple Crown batting .423 with six homeruns and 41 RBI. He was named best batter and most valuable player. A’s hurler Walter Strasser received the trophy for the best pitcher. He had an 11-1 record with an ERA of 1.23 during the regular season, striking out 120 batters in 95 1/3 innings. Over the past three years he has a 39-4 record with an ERA of 1.52 in 337 2/3 innings.
