Weekend September 2nd till 4th was dedicated for the Czech Baseball Cup Final Four. AVG Draci Brno, Technika Brno, Kotlarka Praha and home team Arrows Ostrava played from Friday to Sunday for Czech Baseball Cup Trophy in a double elimination bracket system. The first game of the Final Four was played on Friday between Arrows and Draci, Draci won 9-5 and moved Arrows to the brink of elimination. In the second semifinal game Technika Brno won 7-1 against Kotlarka Praha.
The elimination game between Arrows and Kotlarka had the favorite in the team from Prague, but Arrows played excellent baseball, shut out Kotlarka 6-0 and advanced them to Sunday’s game. In the game for a final ticket between AVG Draci and Technika, the people in attendance saw very good baseball, Technika played quality baseball and received attention from the other teams in semifinal of Extraleague. Technika beat AVG Draci 9-6 and promoted to final.
Sunday morning started with the game for the second spot in the final. As expected AVG Draci Brno defeated home team Arrows 8-1 and the fans were looking forward to the afternoon final game between Technika Brno and Draci Brno. After another thrilling game between Brno rivals AVG Draci won 6-5 and once again won the Czech Baseball Cup.
The games throughout the weekend brought some information in regards of the upcoming Extraleague playoff series. AVG Draci (will play against Eagles Praha) and Technika (will play against Kotlarka) are prepared very well for upcoming weekend Extraleague semifinal. Kotlarka Praha was a little bit behind the expectations and everybody is waiting how they will start into their semifinal series against Technika.
