After missing the Czech title for the first time after 16 consecutive championships in 2011, AVG Draci Brno is poised to get back on the throne in the Extraleague in 2012. No longer on the team are Greg McCarthy, Pat Ahearne and Tomas Mrazek. Otherwise the team remains intact, including catcher Alex Derhak. New additions are the returning Michal Bren (won 13 titles with the Dragons in the past) and Australian outfielder Tom Brice. The journey man from down under is expected to arrive in early April. AVG Draci Brno is celebrating its 40th club anniversary this year, being founded as a softball club in 1972. They switched to baseball in 1982 and took off.
