Austrian Baseball Finals: Metrostars win title for third straight year

The Vienna Metrostars are the old and new Austrian baseball champions, after defeating Union Kufstein Vikings in four games. They won the title for the third year in a row.

Game 3: Metrostars – Vikings 7-4:
The Mets scored four runs in the third inning to decide the game early. Andreas KRISZAN started for Vienna and got the win. Kufstein tried to rally at the end but failed. Werner HARRASSER received the loss.

Game 4: Metrostars – Vikings 7-5:
Union Kufstein tried hard to win this one, but lost game four as well. They scored two runs in the seventh to take a 2-1 lead. However, Vienna answered with three runs in the bottom of the same period and added three more in the eighth. Tim PATRICK started for the Metrostars. Bernhard EIDHERR was on the mound for the Vikings.

Game 4: 17:00 Vienna Metrostars – Union Kufstein Vikings 7-5
Metrostars win series 3-1.

For third place:
Game 3: 11:00 Superfund Wanderers – Mosquito Athletics Attnang-Puchheim 3-4
Athletics finish season in third place.
