SYDNEY – With Opening Day of the 2016/17 season fast approaching, the Australian Baseball League (ABL) is proud to announce the streaming schedule for this year, along with two exciting additions to the league’s ever-growing multimedia arsenal.
The ABLtv.com has teamed up with family-owned electronics supplier Bing Lee, introducing the 60-year-old company as the new naming rights partner – ABLtv powered by Bing Lee. Mirroring the ABL’s dedication to providing quality multimedia to its fans, Bing Lee is proud to offer its customers the best advice and best prices on all of their home electronics needs.
In 2016/17, ABLtv.com powered by Bing Lee will feature one free live game every day of every round during the season, with a new show called “Sunday Showcase” preceding the Sunday ballgame. Hosted on-site by the home team of the Sunday streamed game, “Sunday Showcase” will bring ABL fans up-to-date on all the weekend’s action and feature exclusive live interviews with players and managers right before the action kicks off. The show will also provide ABL fans a deeper insight into all aspects of the game they love.
Also new in 2016/17 is a weekly podcast hosted by the voice of Australian baseball, Chris Coleman. The all-new “StrikeZone Australia” builds on Coleman’s previous popular radio program, in which he displayed his own brand of baseball wit and wisdom while weaving together the important stories of the week. StrikeZone Australia’s first 48-minute episode is slated for Wednesday, 9 November, and the program will run the duration of the postseason, until the beginning of February.
This season, ABLtv.com powered by Bing Lee will feature one free, live game per day per round. Under the new schedule, fans in all six markets will have the opportunity to see their team featured on a game stream at least once per round, along with being able to tune in for the other games each exciting weekend of ABL baseball. As in previous seasons, all streamed games will be live and free, and also available via online live scoring.
The first streamed game of the season will be the season opener (Thursday 17 November), in which the Brisbane Bandits, proudly presented by WellDog, will begin their quest to defend the Claxton Shield at home against Canberra Elite Cavalry.
The streamed games also include a special rivalry match between the Canberra Elite Cavalry and the CompassMarkets.com Sydney Blue Sox, who will face off in the first ABL game held in Wollongong, NSW on 27 November.
