Australian Baseball League: Melbourne Aces with walk-off win in 11th on Saturday

Posted on November 8, 2014November 8, 2014 by philipp

Two games were played in the Australian Baseball League on Saturday. The Melbourne Aces downed the Brisbane Bandits 2-1 in 11 innings. A solo home run by Brad Harman in the second extra inning made the difference. Otherwise pitching and defense dominated. In the end Kazuki Miyata picked up the win in relief. Justin Erasmus got charged with the loss.

In the second matchup the Sydney Blue Sox took a 2-1 lead in the series over the Canberra Cavalry with a 3-1 win. All three runs were scored in the top of the sixth, mainly thanks to a two-run single by Joshua Dean. Luke Wilkins earned his first victory of the season, allowing just one run on six hits and a walk in 7 1/3 innings. Tristan Crawford took the loss.
