The Aussies began their slugfest in the second frame and the offense did not stop until the sixth. They brought twelve runs alone on the board in the third period. The inning started with eight straight hits. The highlight was a two-run-homerun by Glenn WILLIAMS (3-4, 4 RBI).
Leadoff hitter Trent OELTJEN reached base six times (4 singles, 2 bb) and had three RBI. Gavin FINGELSON ripped three doubles into the field and drove in five. Brad HARMAN had four hits. Matthew KENT celebrated five hits.
Somsak SARNWIT denied the bid for a shutout with RBI-double in the fourth.
Scott MITCHENSON pitched three perfect innings to start the contest. He was replaced by third baseman FINGELSON, who closed out the game. He allowed one run on four hits.
