Athletics and Vikings reach Austrian Baseball League Finals

The MOSQUITO ATHLETICS and the UNION KUFSTEIN VIKINGS will play for the Austrian championship in the finals, starting next week. The A’s completed a three-game sweep over the SCHWAZ TIGERS on Saturday with a 11-2 victory. They outscored the TIGERS 34-9 to reach the final series.

The VIKINGS needed a 6-5 game-five win against the SUPERFUND WANDERERS on Sunday to clinch a ticket for the finals. A day before KUFSTEIN blew a 7-2 lead in game three to lose 7-8, but won game four 3-2 in eleven innings to tie the series 2-2. In the decisive match the VIKINGS rallied in the last frame to beat VIENNA with an one-run advantage.
