Athletics, Tigers reach Finals in Austrian Baseball League

The Athletics Attnang-Puchheim and the Schwaz Tigers have reached the finals in the Austrian Baseball League. The A’s completed the sweep in the best-of-five semi-final series over the Union Kufstein Vikings with a 9-8 comeback win, erasing a 0-6 deficit in the process.

In the second semi-final the Tigers got some payback for last year’s lost championship series against the Vienna Wanderers, as they celebrated two wins on the road to win the series 3-1. In game three Franz Haisjackl won the pitcher’s duel against Christian Tomsich in a 4-2 victory. Schwaz scored all four runs in the seventh. In game four, the Tigers took a fast 6-2 lead after two frames en route to an 11-5 win. Daniel Hayes got the win, Hiro Sakanashi the loss.
