The hosting Athletics Attnang-Puchheim have won the 13th edition of the Finkstonball Tournament this weekend. They defeated the Swiss NLA club Sissach Frogs 10-0 in front of 500 people in the stands to pick up the trophy. The reigning Swiss champion Therwil Flyers had to settle for third place after winning the bronze medal game 6-2 against their Romanian pendant Dinamo Bucharest.

The A’s had reached the title game thanks to a 1-0 nail biter over the Flyers, when Miles Etheridge shut down the Therwil offense. The Frogs beat Bucharest 6-3 in the semi-finals. Last year’s champion Bad Homburg Hornets (GER) was eliminated in the preliminary phase after a 2-3 loss against Attnang-Puchheim. The home team won Finkstonball for the third time after 2003 and 2005. JB Tucker (Flyers) won the homerun derby with three long balls in ten tries.
