Astros Valencia and Sevilla Red Sox battle for Division de Honor Spot

Posted on December 11, 2008 by philipp

There is still Baseball being played in Europe. In Spain the ASTROS VALENCIA and the SEVILLA RED SOX will decide, which team will get the last and tenth spot in the 2009 Division de Honor. VALENCIA finished in ninth place on the highest level in Spain with a horrible 0-32 record in the first year after their promotion. SEVILLA won 18 of 24 games, taking second place in second division ball behind HALCONES DE VIGO from Pontevedra.

A few weeks ago both teams met already for the first two games of the best-of-five relegation series. The RED SOX defeated the ASTROS 15-5 in the first match, but VALENCIA came back to win the second 12-8. Games three to five are scheduled for the upcoming weekend at the Costa del Azahar. HALCONES already secured a place in the 2009 Division de Honor due to their first-place finish in the Primera Division.
