EXTRALEAGUE ARMY DAY is scheduled for Saturday April 29th at Krc where Tempo Titans will host Eagles Praha. Beside the Extraleague game, for which there were designed special uniforms in cameo style, visitors can expect army vehicles and equipment show. The program starts with U7 game between Titans and Eagles. The first pitch of the game will be thrown by minister of defense Mr. Martin Stropnicky.
There was also plan to have another Army Day in Trebic, without special uniform, but with army program, flying show over the field was cancelled due to unstable weather conditions, only the baseball game will be played. Finally, also Arrows Ostrava is planning their own ARMY DAY in June with similar program alike in Trebic.
CBA wants to give tribute to the armed forces, as it is common in the United States. Baseball is the second sport in Czech Republic after ice hockey (Sparta Praha) which is giving tribute to armed forces. CBA is expecting that this event will become a regular part of the Extraleague schedule in the coming years.
Please check the latest video on Facebook page Baseball Czech, where you can see the uniform design for tomorrow’s ARMY DAY at Krc.
Soccer players & fans all over the Czech Republic must be rolling on the ground in laughter over your statement that baseball is the #2 sport in that country.
Every Czech baseball player I’ve seen also dabble in soccer. I have not seen a soccer player with a baseball in his kit.
And then there is basketball……
Baseball is a small minority sport in the Czech, as it is in every nation of Europe.
Please read again. The article doesn’t state that baseball is the second sport in the Czech Republic, but that baseball is the second sport to do an Army Day.
I apologise. I did misread the sentence.
