Europeans in the USA Comments Off on Arizona Fall League: Update October 24, 2013

Three games were played in the Arizona Fall League on Thursday. The Glendale Desert Dogs shut out the Peoria Javelinas 6-0, also thanks to two hits, a double and a run by German first baseman Max Kepler. The Berlin native also committed his first error, missing a catch at first.

Czech Republic’s left-hander Alex Sogard saw his second appearance of the week. He closed out the game for Peoria, allowing two hits, an unearned run and a walk in two thirds of an inning.

Dutch infielder Jonathan Schoop connected for his second home run of the AFL season in a 9-10 loss of his Surprise Saguaros against the Salt River Rafters. It was his lone hit in five at-bats.

South Africa’s Gift Ngoepe was the DH in a Scottsdale Scorpions’ 4-7 loss to the Mesa Solar Sox. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
