After taking Sunday off, the Arizona Fall League resumed play on Monday with three games. The Glendale Desert Dogs lost 6-9 to the Surprise Saguaros. Glendale’s first baseman Max Kepler went 1-for-3 with a walk, his fifth double and a run scored. He also was part of three double plays.
The Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Peoria Javelinas 7-4 thanks to three runs in the top of the tenth. South Africa’s Gift Ngoepe batted leadoff and played shortstop for Scottsdale. He went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and a RBI. He had a sac fly and turned a double play. Czech Republic’s Alex Sogard struck out two in a scoreless innings of relief for Peoria.
