25-year-old Catcher Andy Paz is leaving affiliated minor league ball, but is remaining in professional baseball. He signed a contract with the Southshore Rail Cats, an organization of the independent American Association. The Cuba born French player had been playing for the Oakland Athletics organization between 2011 and 2017, reaching Double-A. Overall he had a .256/.339/.323 in 254 minor league games.
