Swiss National Team head coach Andy Fleischacker is taking over at the helm for the Swiss vice champion Therwil Flyers. He signed a two-year contract and will be moving into the Basel area in early February. Fleischacker says that he is thrilled to be taking over as head coach of one of the most successful clubs in Swiss baseball history and hopes to continue to lead the Flyers teams to much success in the coming seasons.
The 41-year-old Fleischacker is well known in Europe, having played and coached throughout several countries on the continent in the last 14 years. He has worked in the Swiss Nationalliga A before, coaching the Zurich Challengers between 2000 and 2002 as well as 2007/2008. He coached the Solingen Alligators in 2009 and 2010 and has been the Swiss National Team head coach since the 2011 season.
