The Czech Baseball Association (CBA) appointed Andy Berglund as new head coach of the Czech National Team. He is replacing Arnost Nesnal at this position. He signed a two-year contract and also will be responsible for the Junior National Team, preparing them for the 2011 European Championship in Gijon.

Berglund worked as a MLB Envoy Coach in Europe and also coached Stockholm in the Swedish Elitserien in the past, leading them to the title in 2008. He is currently coaching in California and will arrive in the Czech Republic on March 11 to start his new job.

Besides coaching the Czech National Team he also will serve as head coach of the Extraleague club Eagles Prague. The CBA choose him after recommendations from Major League Baseball, his good knowledge of the local environment and positive communications with the CBA.
