Dutch outfielder Andruw Jones isn’t going to play in the Asia Series. According to a report by Honkbalsite.com he has other obligations and therefore will miss the “International Tournament of Champions” in Taichung (November 15-20). His club, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, has won the championship in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) and will be participating besides Europe’s representative Fortitudo Bologna, Uni-President Lions and EDA Rhinos from the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL), the Canberra Cavalry from the Australian Baseball League (ABL) and Rick van den Hurk’s Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO). Jones has been playing his first season in Japan this year.
