The FC Barcelona concluded their transactions for now with the signing of Andoni ORTIZ. They already have introduced manager Aldo TARIFE, reliever Jorge BALBOA and infielder Jorge GOLINDANO.

ORTIZ is from Venezuela and was on the roster of the Marlins Puerto Cruz in 2007. However he appeared in just two games (3 IP, ERA 0.00, 3 SO, 1 BB) in the Spanish Baseball league, before he returned to his home country. The 24-year-old appeared in 35 games (11 starts) in the Venezuelan Summer League between 2004 and 2006. He played for Cagua and the Reds affiliate. Overall he had a 3-5 record with two saves and an ERA of 3.95. He struck out 63 (46 BB) in 82 innings pitched.

They have completed their off-season plans for now. However they could sign another player until the season starts in April.
