Alex Liddi: The Seattle Mariners had two split-squad games scheduled for Monday to continue the exhibition program during Spring Training in Arizona, so Italian prospect Alex Liddi got another chance to take a few swings against Major League pitching. He replaced Jose Lopez at third base in a 2-6 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers and picked up two at-bats, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout.
Gregory Halman: Outfielder Gregory Halman played in the second game of the Mariners, a 5-4 victory against the Chicago White Sox. He came in for Franklin Gutierrez and played in right field. He struck out in his lone plate appearance.
Roger Bernadina: Outfielder Roger Bernadina played for the Washington Nationals in a 2-11 loss against the Florida Marlins. He replaced Willie Harris in left field, but didn’t get a hit in his at-bat.
Aroldis Chapman: Since there are some fans in Europe interested in Aroldis Chapman, he made his first official Spring Training appearance for the Cincinnati Reds on Monday in a game against the Kansas City Royals. He relieved Bronson Arroyo and allowed just one hit and a walk in two scoreless innings. He struck out three and reached 99 MPH with his fastball.
