According to a report by GrandeSlam.net the future of Italian right-hander Alessandro Maestri in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) is still uncertain. He still hasn’t received an agreement for the 2016 season and is waiting to get a call from the team. The 30-year-old from Cesena had been playing in Japan since the 2012 season. Between 2007 and 2011 he was a member of the Chicago Cubs organization and later also played for the Lincoln Saltdogs in the American Association, as well as the Brisbane Bandits in the Australian Baseball League. In NPB he had a 14-11 record with an ERA of 3.44. He hopes to stay in Asia and is also open to play in South Korea.
