The ORKAS scored only one run in the first inning in a 1-3 loss to LEONES on Saturday. David Rivas (3-4) led off the game with a single and scored on Emilio Linarez’ RBI single for the fast 1-0 lead. But the team from Caracas came back. They tied the contest in the fourth and brought the winning runs home in the eighth. The ALB instead didn’t find another way to round the bases and were defeated for the eleventh time this season.

Alexis Fumero started for the ORKAS and allowed just one run on six hits in seven solid innings. He struck out five. His ERA dropped to 2.39. Wilmer Alvarez (L 2-1) relieved him and had a wild game, allowing two runs (1 ER) on no hits, but two walks (1 IBB) and two wild pitches. Steven van Groningen struck out one in a scoreless ninth.
