ALB Orkas crush Magallanes to end Losing Streak

For the first time since a 10-9 victory against DETROIT on November 13th, the ORKAS could celebrate. They crushed MAGALLANES on Friday 15-7 for their 15th win of the season. The ALB offense broke out of their slump and combined for 13 hits, including a season high six homeruns. They put four runs on the board each in the third and sixth frame, and blew the game wide open with a five-run eighth.

Zair Koeiman went three for five with two long balls, driving in four; both were firsts in the Liga Paralela for him. Bryon Bell (1-2, 3 BB, 4 runs, 2 RBI), David Nino (3 RBI), Gabriel Montero (3 RBI) and Ricky Thomas also homered. Sytse Visbsen was the designated hitter and had three hits in five at bats.

Kevin Alarcon (W 3-3) allowed six hits, two runs and two walks in six innings. He struck out five for his third win of the year. Jurjen van Zijl replaced Alarcon in the seventh and conceded five hits, four runs and a base on balls in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out one.

One of the best infield prospects in baseball was the DH for MAGALLANES. Elvis Andrus from the TEXAS RANGERS went two for four with a walk, a runs scored and a RBI.
