Gift Ngoepe, Pittsburgh Pirates.
Current team: Indianapolis Indians (AAA)
The elder statesman of South African professionals has 2 hits in his last 10 games. He’s 20 at bats short of his cumulative 2015 season, and he’s got 20 less hits, 8 less walks, and 35 more strikeouts. While continuing to play shortstop nearly every day at the Triple-A level, and remaining on the Pirates 40-man roster, Ngoepe has slashed .208/.273/.338 in 284 at bats this season.
Anthony Phillips, Los Angeles Angels.
Current team: Arkansas Travelers (AA)
Phillips had a 4-hit game in late July that boosts his last-10 game average to .355. He also had 7 walks in that time. He’s hitting .255/.330/.310 in 90 games and 274 at bats.
Dylan Unsworth, Seattle Mariners.
Current team: Jacksonville Generals (AA)
Unsworth remains on the DL and hasn’t pitched since early June. In 9 starts he had a 1.16 ERA, including a complete game shutout.
