Tayler Scott continued his useful work at the MLB level in a trio of appearance for Oakland in August, and has a 3.38 ERA in eight frames since joining the A’s on July 19. Meanwhile, all three Ugandan professionals concluded their seasons, with David Matoma, in particular, excelling in his limited work in the Dominican.

The Johannesburg native bounced between the Athletics’ big league team and Triple-A in August. He allowed zero runs on four hits and one walk in three major league appearances, striking out a pair. He allowed only one run in his six Triple-A games while picking up six more strikeouts.

One of two players the Dodgers signed in 2022 as the first Ugandans in pro baseball, Male has collected 19 stateside at bats. His last came on Aug. 1,though he has remained on the active roster. In those trips to the plate, Male totaled three hits, three RBI, and one stolen base. Last season in the Dominican Summer League, he played in 18 games, hitting .200 with eight walks and two home runs while striking out 21 times in 45 at bats.
Ben Serunkuma (21), Los Angeles Dodgers. Uganda. ACL Dodgers.
The righty made 12 appearances totaling 13.2 innings in his U.S debut. He had 21 strikeouts and 10 walks while surrendering 17 hits, compiling a 1-1 record with four holds and a 5.93 ERA. He pitched 12 games last year in the Dominican Summer League with a 2.11 ERA, recording 19 strikeouts and 3 walks in 21.1 innings.

The righty pitched 16.2 innings in nine games this summer without allowing an earned or unearned run. He struck out 14 and walked season.
