Adelaide Bite joins Brisbane Bandits in Australian Baseball League Finals

Posted on February 2, 2016February 2, 2016 by philipp

The Adelaide Bite have reached the Australian Baseball League Championships Series. They defeated the Canberra Cavalry 2-1 in the best-of-three playoff series this past weekend. Adelaide won game one 6-4 behind two home runs by Travis Demeritte on Friday.

On Saturday game two got suspended in the first inning and resumed play on Sunday with Canberra prevailing 3-2 and forcing a decisive third match. In the rubber game Adelaide won 9-2 to join the Brisbane Bandits in the finals. Once again Demeritte went deep twice to pace the Bite.

With Adelaide taking on Brisbane in the Championship Series (February 5-7), the 2015/2016 season in the Australian Baseball League ends next weekend. It also will feature a European duel between Bite reliever Loek van Mil from the Netherlands and Brisbane’s designated hitter Donald Lutz from Germany.

FOX Sports and MLB Network are broadcasting the finals live.
