SYDNEY – The third-annual Australian Baseball League All-Star Game, pitting Team Australia versus the World All-Stars, will be carried on ESPN in Australia and New Zealand on 22 December from 8-10:30 PM AEDT, the league announced today. The 2013 edition of the league’s showcase event, to be held on 18 December from 7:30 PM AEDT at Melbourne Ballpark, will once more feature Australia’s top baseball talent taking on the ABL’s best imported players from around the world.
This season’s All-Star Game marks the first time the ABL has been carried on ESPN. Launched in Australia and New Zealand in 2002, ESPN now reaches over 2.5 million households and carries a diverse array of major sporting events from around the world as well as the local version of the network’s flagship SportsCenter program, Pardon the Interruption Australia, Aussies Abroad, and more.
