A4 Terrasvogels are new Dutch Softball Champions

Losing in the finals 2005 and 2006, Terrasvogels swept the Holland Series against Sparks Haarlem and won the Dutch Softball championships 2007. After winning the first two 2-1 and 9-2, where they scored eight runs in the ninth and clinched the title with a 7-0 shutout in the third game on last Sunday.

Dagmar BLOEMING won the first two games, pitched 7 2/3 innings, allowing only four hits, two unearned runs and two walks. Judith VAN KAMPEN got the third win with a five-inning-shutout. Petra VAN HEIJST sparked the Offense with a .444 average and four RBI in the series. Sandra GOUVERNEUR scored four runs.

Mariska GREVE, Marleos FELLINGER and Chantal VERSLUIS scored the three runs for Haarlem. Crissy AUTRY (0-2, ERA 4.94) pitched 11 1/3 innings and struck out 19.
