Posted on October 13, 2007October 13, 2007 by philipp

After days of confusion and chaos, the first Latin American and Caribbean League of Baseball is underway. Venezuela won the opening match on Wednesday 6-1 against Columbia. Cuba followed with a 9-0 shutout versus Columbia on Thursday, which was called after six innings because of a rain delay and electrical problems in the ballpark in Caracas. On Friday Cuba and Venezuela met for the most anticipated match of the tournament. The Cuban team won 10-4. Both teams are competing in the upcoming World Cup in group B with the Netherlands, Germany, Korea, Thailand, Australia and Canada.
