World Cup: Australian roster features five Major League players

The Australian team announced today their roster for the upcoming World Cup in Taipei. The 24-man squad features five current and former Major League players (Travis BLACKLEY (Giants), Glenn WILLIAMS (Twins), Justin HUBER (Royals), Brad THOMAS (Twins), Richard THOMPSON (Angels)), seven Olympic silver medallists and overall 22 overseas professionals. They are playing in group B against the Netherlands, Germany, Cuba, Korea, Thailand, Canada and Venezuela. Their goal for the tournament is to finish in the top three.

Roster:
Catcher: Andrew GRAHAM, Mathew KENT

Infielder: Michael COLLINS, Brad HARMAN, Luke HUGHES, Ben RISINGER, Gavin FINGLESON, Glenn WILLIAMS

Outfielder: Tom BRICE, Justin HUBER, Brett RONEBERG

Pitcher: Adam BLACKLEY, Travis BLACKLEY, Adam BRIGHT, Adrian BURNSIDE, Tristan CRAWFORD, Josh HILL, Trent OELTJEN, Dushan RUZIC, Brad THOMAS, Richard THOMPSON, David WELCH, Greg WILTSHIRE, Brendan WISE
