Baseball Czechia continues to demonstrate that it is the heart of Little League baseball in Europe. For the fourth consecutive year, South Czech Republic Little League (LL) faced down the best in the continent in Kutno, Poland, and—as it has every year since 2023—earned a spot in the Little League World Series. This year, the Czech boys won all six of their games, outscoring opponents 53-8. It is the sixth overall appearance for Czech Republic in the Little League World Series, following a two-year run in 2013 and 2014.
Eleven teams faced off across two pools at Kutno’s youth baseball facility over the past week, following the Little League Europe & Africa Qualifying Tournament the week prior [link], in which Central Lithuania LL and Switzerland West LL claimed spots in the main continental compeition. The two groups played a round robin, with the top two squads advancing to the playoffs. South Czech Republic and South-West Germany advancing to the semifinals from Pool A, while Catalunya (representing Spain) and Belgium Region 3 joined them as the top two nines from Pool B.
Belgium then hung tough against South Czech Republic in the first semifinal, losing a nail-biter, 1-0. Spain and Germany, similarly, played things quite closely, with the former triumphing 5-3. The final delivered more good baseball, with the Baseball Czechia boys earning a tight 4-2 victory.
There are 10 international region tournaments and the same number in the U.S., with the winners advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., from Aug. 19-30. South Czech Republic’s first game will be on Aug. 21 at 11 p.m. CET in Volunteer Stadium against the winner of Canada vs. Asia-Pacific. In 2025, South Czech Republic lost to Japan, before falling to Australia in a close game.
