Elmer Reyes was only able to avoid a shutout against Nicaragua, when he plated Dwight Britton with a single in the seventh.

For Mexico it was the second rout over Nicaragua in the WBCQ in Mexicali. In the winner’s matchup on day two they had won by a score of 11-0. Mexico also defeated the Czech Republic 2-1, while Nicaragua defeated Germany 5-4 and the Czech Republic 7-6 on their way to the finals. The Czech finished in third place, Germany in fourth.
