FORTITUDO was ready from the start, using a seven-run first to decide the outcome in the first game of the playoff round, which determines in a double round robin the participants in the Italian Series. They celebrated a 9-1 win in the end.
Richard Austin went three-for-five with a homerun, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Lino Connell and Giovanni Pantaleoni also had three hits for BOLOGNA. Max Di Biase delivered three hits for SAN MARINO.
Fabio Betto (W 1-0) allowed five hits, a run and a walk in six innings. Matteo Tonellato (L 0-1) didn’t make it out of the first inning, giving up six hits, seven runs and two base on balls in 2/3 of an inning.

NETTUNO shut out GROSSETO 8-0 in their first game of the postseason schedule. Carlos Richetti (W 1-0) allowed just four hits in seven innings, striking out four. He needed just 79 pitches, 53 for strikes. Besides this good performance on the mound, DANESI also had a power outburst.
Seven of the eight runs were driven in by homeruns. Juan Camilo hit two over the fence and had a total of three hits, three runs and three RBI in four at bats. Giuseppe Mazzanti (2-2, 4 RBI) and Carlos Duran also homered. Kelly Ramos went three-for-three for MONTEPASCHI.
Emiliano Ginanneschi (L 0-1) was charged with seven hits, six runs (5 ER) and five bb in 6 1/3 innings.
