2011 in Review – Dutch Hoofdklasse – Mr. Cocker HCAW

As we did in the last couple of years, we want to use the offseason to look back at the statistical performances by the teams in Europe’s top baseball leagues this past season. At the plate for the first part is the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

Mr. Cocker HCAW

2011 Record: 13-29
2011 Ranking: 6th. Mr. Cocker HCAW needed several weeks to get things going in the 2011 season, finishing the regular season with a 13-29 record in seventh place. During the playdowns they had no troubles to hold down Sparta/Feyenoord and ADO, trailing only UVV with six wins in nine games.
Runs Scored: 188 (6th)
Runs Allowed: 247 (tied 5th)

Best Batter: Dirimo Chavez. The Venezuelan infielder batted .363 (OBP .435/SLG .478) with two homeruns, 12 doubles, 28 runs and 27 RBI in 42 games.
Best OPS: Dirimo Chavez .913
Most Homeruns: Dirimo Chavez, Juan Gonzalez 2

Best Pitcher: Maarten Mulder. The closer went 3-3 with two saves and an ERA of 2.11 in 17 appearances. He struck out 18 batters in 21 1/3 innings, while walking eight.
Best ERA Starter: Kevin Roovers 3.33
Best ERA Reliever: Maarten Mulder 2.11
Most Strikeouts: Moises Melendez 72
Most Walks: Moises Melendez 33
Most Innings Pitched: Kevin Miner 86.2
