2010 in Review – Dutch Hoofdklasse – Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam

After starting into the annual review season with the Italian Baseball League, we’re continuing with the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam

2010 Record: 13-28 (one tie)
2010 Ranking: 6th place in Dutch Hoofdklasse after regular season. In the playdowns Sparta/Feyenoord held off ADO in three games to secure its spot in the 2011 edition of the head class in Honkbal.
Runs Scored: 134 (6th)
Runs Allowed: 229 (6th)

Best Batter: Roderick Simon. He batted .330 (OBP .404/SLG .371) with 16 runs and eight RBI in just 97 at-bats through 27 games.

Best Pitcher: Gregory Gustina. The southpaw who also pitched for the Dutch National Team in the European Championship this summer had a 4-7 record with an ERA of 3.25 in 14 starts. He struck out 67 batters in 105 1/3 innings, while walking 29.

Best ERA Reliever: Rudy Seebus 4.01
Most Strikeouts: Jose Ventura 75 (tied for 6th in league)
