2009 in Review – German Baseball-Bundesliga – Gauting Indians

A few weeks ago, we started our review series. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the Italian Baseball League and the Spanish Division de Honor, we now direct our attention to the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

Gauting Indians

2009 Record: 9-23 (including play downs)
2009 Ranking: 7th place in southern division of the Baseball-Bundesliga. Reinforced with a bunch of Baseball-Bundesliga players the team of head coach Trey Hendricks drove to France in July and won the international tournament Open de Rouen.
Runs Scored: 85 (in regular season)
Runs Allowed: 160 (in regular season)

Best Batter: Lasse Bischoff. The 24-year-old outfielder batted .271 (OBP .377/SLG .407) with five extra base hits, eleven runs scored and four RBI in 18 games.
Best OPS: Lasse Bischoff .784
Most Home Runs: Trey Hendricks 3
Most RBI: Trey Hendricks 14
Most Runs Scored: Brad Dutton 13

Best Pitcher: Chris Clem. The right-hander from Pennsylvania had a 4-6 record with an ERA of 3.48 in ten starts. He struck out 64 batters in 75 innings, walking 41. He had his best game on the first day of the season, shutting out the Mainz Athletics in seven innings, while striking out eleven batters.
Best ERA: Chris Clem 3.48
