2023 European Baseball Championship: Day 4

BRNO, Czechia – In the first quarterfinal of the European Baseball Championship, Spain used five home runs, including a pair apiece from Royals’ prospect Omar Hernández and Spanish Baseball League slugger Édgar Rondón, to defeat Sweden in only five innings. Meanwhile, in a nail-biter at Blansko’s Strawberry Field, Germany came from behind in the ninth to tie France and then pushed across the winning run in 10. In the morning’s other game, Switzerland upset neighbours Austria in the placement round, while Italy claimed a big win versus Ukraine.
