BELGRADE, Serbia — The Budapest Red Wolves and Vojvodina started their Federation Cup Qualifier with a pair of complete performances, each needing only seven innings to dispatch, respectively, Lithuanian baseball’s Kaunas County and Barons Wrocƚaw, representing Polish baseball.

Highlights
Both victorious clubs received excellent pitching, with Hungarian prospect Ádám Piros turning in what was likely his best-ever pitching performance at the senior level, striking out seven in seven one-run innings. However, it was an electric Andersón Vera who claimed top pitching honors, punching out 15 in a one-hit shutout. Vera had a perfect game going through 3 2/3 innings, but permitted only three baserunners in a complete game effort. Budapest’s Carlos Rubio continued his masterful season, drilling his sixth home run across all competitions.
